Travel Beauty: Makeup
Too Faced Primed & Poreless Primer: One of my old faithfuls! This primer is lovely on the skin – it’s a super silky primer, rather than a tackier one. It makes a perfect base for flawless foundation, and just feels really amazing on the skin.
Australis Stayput Foundation: Another old faithful, I love love love this foundation! It sits beautifully on my skin, and also contains SPF 15 making it perfect for hot & sunny destinations.
Nude by Nature Concealer: This concealer is great for both under-eye darkness and blemishes. It’s also super pigmented, so I can also use it to lighten foundation if I need to.
Eyes & Lips
Australis Brow Pencil: Full disclosure – I don’t get fancy with my brows. Brow pomade scares me a little bit. This pencil is the perfect no-fuss brow colouring-in tool, it’s cheap and it’s cruelty free. I’m sold.
Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Mascara: This mascara is made with mostly natural ingredients, and works amazingly. I don’t find it as volumising as Too Faced’s Better Than Sex, but it’s not at all crumbly (which BTS can be) and looks awesome.
Colourpop Lippie Stix: I fell in L O V E with these the first time I tried them! I love the formula and the colours (Cami is my #1), and Colourpop is super affordable. These have been my go-to lip products ever since I first got them!
Nude by Nature Mineral Finishing Veil (Translucent): The cruelty-free version of Rimmel’s Stay Matte! This powder smooths everything out and helps set everything in. Seriously, such a beautiful finishing powder!
Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray: I feel naked when I don’t wear this setting spray over the top of my makeup! The UD setting sprays are the only ones I’ve ever actually seen a difference by wearing, so I absolutely love them.
Travel Beauty: Body Care
Hair & Body Care
Ethique Sampler Pack: I recently discovered Ethique, which may just be the best bodycare brand I’ve ever come across. They make solid products (like shampoo, conditioner, face cleanser, deodorant) to use less water and no plastic packaging. They’re made in New Zealand, and contain no parabens. I just bought the sampler pack to take with me on this trip, but when I get home I will 2000% be buying full-size products.
Essano Rosehip Oil: Rosehip oil is the key to everything. That’s all.
EcoTan Natural Sunscreen: So far this is the only sunscreen I’ve come across that is cruelty-free, and fortunately it works amazingly. The normal one can give you that real cute white sheen, but they also have a tinted one that works equally as well without the whiteness.
Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo: This lasts waaaaay longer than aerosol dry shampoo, and works just as well – if not better. SOLD!
Lush The Greeench Deodorant: If you’re looking to try out a more natural deodorant, this a great one to try. Because it’s a powder, it can be kinda awkward to navigate at first when you’re used to sticks or sprays, but once you’ve got it – it’s goooood.
Lush Vanillary Solid Perfume: God, she loves Lush doesn’t she? I was hoping to get the spritzer version of this perfume, but my local store only had the solid ones left and I really couldn’t be bothered trekking it to the city to buy one $11 product. Smells real good, looks like it’ll last a long time, and I am SOLD.
Hurraw! Lip Balm: The BEST lip balms ever. I always buy 3 when I go travelling because I am basically guaranteed to lose at least one, and being without a trusted lip balm is not something I’m prepared to deal with emotionally.
Lush Santa Baby Lip Scrub: First of all, this tastes amazing. Sometimes I just use this on my lips even when they’re not chapped and disgusting just because I love the taste. Is that weird? Probably. WHatever, I love this stuff.
